Reducing Waste

We operate a comprehensive waste management and segregation system, working closely with our retailers to minimise waste. Through these efforts, all waste is diverted away from landfill, with a significant proportion recycled.

Energy Efficiency

We are undertaking an ongoing programme to upgrade lighting throughout the centre and car parks to energy‑efficient LED lighting. LED lights consume less energy, last longer and help reduce overall energy usage.

Town Partnerships & Local Initiatives

The Liberty Romford plays an active role in supporting the town through partnerships and initiatives that strengthen community connection, safety and wellbeing.

Romford BID Partnership

We work in partnership with the Romford Business Improvement District (BID) to help enhance the town centre experience. Together, we support initiatives that promote a safer, cleaner and more welcoming Romford for businesses, visitors and residents alike, including town‑wide events, safety campaigns and placemaking projects.

My Local Bobby

To help improve safety and provide reassurance for visitors, we support the My Local Bobby scheme. This initiative provides a visible, dedicated presence within the town centre, helping deter anti‑social behaviour and offering assistance when needed - contributing to a safer environment for everyone.

Too Good To Go

As part of our sustainability commitment, we support retailers participating in Too Good To Go, a scheme that helps reduce food waste by allowing surplus food to be purchased at a reduced price. This initiative helps prevent perfectly good food from going to waste while offering value to the local community.

Chatty Tuesday

We proudly support Chatty Tuesday, an initiative designed to help reduce loneliness and encourage social connection. By promoting conversation‑friendly spaces, Chatty Tuesday offers visitors a chance to slow down, connect with others and enjoy meaningful interactions while visiting the centre.
