Accessible Shopping

We’re committed to making The Liberty Romford as inclusive and accessible as possible, so that everyone can enjoy a comfortable and welcoming visit.

Discover the measures we have in place to support accessibility for all our visitors.

Making Your Visit Accessible for Everyone

At The Liberty Romford, we’re proud to offer an accessible shopping and leisure environment designed to meet a wide range of needs. Whether you require mobility support, prefer a calmer shopping environment, are planning a visit with an assistance dog or would like help preparing for your visit, we’ve put thoughtful measures in place to support you.

Our aim is to make every visit seamless, reassuring and enjoyable for all.

Planning Your Visit

We understand that visiting a shopping centre can feel overwhelming for some guests, particularly those with autism, dementia, anxiety or anyone who may require additional support.

The information below is designed to help you feel more confident when planning your visit and to ensure your time at The Liberty Romford is as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Shopmobility

A Shopmobility service is available to help visitors with mobility needs enjoy their time at the centre.

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be hired to support your visit, subject to availability. For further information on how to access Shopmobility and available equipment, please contact our Guest Services team, who will be happy to assist.

Assistance Dogs

The Liberty Romford welcomes assistance dogs, in line with standard public access regulations.

To help our teams and retailers identify assistance dogs (as pets are not permitted inside the centre), we kindly ask that assistance dogs wear a visible harness or identification where possible.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, we ask that:

  • Assistance dogs remain with their handler at all times
  • Dogs sit or lie quietly beside their handler
  • Dogs are suitably trained and unlikely to foul in public areas
  • One assistance dog accompanies each handler

Quiet Hours

We recognise that shopping centres can be sensory environments, which may be challenging for some visitors, particularly those with autism, dementia, sensory sensitivities or anxiety.

To help create a calmer and more comfortable experience, Quiet Hours are offered at selected times. During these periods, we aim to reduce noise levels and sensory stimulation where possible, creating a more relaxed atmosphere for visitors who may benefit from it.

Details of Quiet Hours can be found on brand websites.

We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome at The Liberty Romford. If you require any additional support during your visit, our team will always be happy to help.
