DISNEY VOLUNT-EARS & THE LIBERTY SHOPPING CENTRE RAISE £2000 FOR QUEENS HOSPITAL CHILDRENS WARD
09/06/2009
The Liberty Shopping centre donated £1000 to the Queens hospital, children's ward at the beginning of the year, and are thrilled to be able to present to the Queens hospital a further donation, due to The Disney stores hard work and dedication.
Disney store staff Hazel Juby and Michelle Greenall alongside their team members worked as Volunt-Ears, which is The Disney stores volunteer scheme, dedicating their own personal time to raise funds within The Liberty shopping centre, for the children's ward. They have raised a further fantastic £1,113.65 plus over 100 toys were donated by Liberty shoppers.
Lyn Clark, Play Specialist of the Queens Hospital Children's ward - Tropical Lagoon commented "It is so positive to have the support of The Liberty shopping centre. Just to watch the children's eyes light up when they saw all of the toys that have been donated is precious. The money raised will go towards play recovery as proven research has shown that when children are stimulated through entertainment their recovery is faster".
David Collins, General Manager commented "The Liberty shopping centre is dedicated to working with our charity of the year, The Queens hospital children's ward. It has been wonderful to have our retailer, The Disney store join us in our endeavour to support such an important cause within our community and the generosity of our shoppers has been amazing.
